What is a one-visit Pitch Raise?
A pitch raise tune is needed when a piano hasn’t been tuned in 5 or more years. This process will bring the piano back up to standard pitch, A-440, also called orchestra pitch.
Most tuners require two or three visits to accomplish this, however through a procedure learned from a well known piano afficianado, I am able to tune your piano with a pitch raise, if needed, in only one visit. This saves you time and money. Over the last 18 years I have perfected this process to save you time and money.
Music Lessons
In addition to piano tuning and repairing, Craig is also a private music teacher. He teaches piano, voice and acoustical guitar, specifically for beginning and intermediate level students. And all lessons are given in the students’ home, saving you time and travel expense.
Piano lessons consist of learning foundational music skills in theory, scales, progressions, technical exercises and songs in classical, pop, folk and sacred styles.
Voice lessons focus on developing proper breathing techniques, diction, phrasing, tone quality and energetic presentation of the music. Repertoire studied includes folk songs, art songs, Broadway, sacred and gospel selections.
Acoustical guitar lessons will enable the student to play rhythm style, which includes multiple strumming patterns, various finger picking styles, master chord progressions and beginning composition.

Craig Armstrong, piano tuner/technician has professionally tuned for over 19 years. He serves numerous churches, homes and businesses across the DFW Metroplex Area. He has done concert tunings for Scot Cameron, David Meece, and Celebrity Cutting Horse events.
PIANO TUNING, EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Craig has studied music throughout his life and earned a B.A. in Church Music from Dallas Baptist University in 1978. He has been involved In teaching piano, guitar, voice, choral conducting and music ministry in churches for the last 36 years.
These professional experiences help ensure the client of Craig’s personal and professional concerns for the highest quality of care for their piano.
Craig received a diploma from The American School of Piano Tuning in 1986 and began his tuning business in 1995. Through further studies he learned the process of the ”one visit pitch raise” for pianos that haven’t been tuned in years; which saves time and money for the client. Craig also repairs pianos in the areas of string replacement, action repairs and regulation, as well as keytop replacement.
